New York Fashion Week - A Memorable weekend and a NY Housewife sighting!!!!

As New York Fashion week has now come to an end and we New Yorker's have gone back to our daily grind, I thought it would be great to reveal some highlights.

So first off, I had the wonderful opportunity of sitting in the front row at my friend Phumelele Kunene's Fashion Show.  She was presenting her line "BlackPhumelele", showcased by AMCONYC, for the first time during New York Fashion Week.  Now it was just over a year ago when we had a discussion about her creating her own clothing line and to see it come to fruition was incredible.  I would like to take a moment to give kudos to the organization, AMCONYC, who provided the opportunity for her to showcase her designs.

AMCONYC is a premier event production company which offers designers the opportunity to showcase their collections in front of a New York Fashion Week audience which includes media, celebrities, millennial influencers, industry professionals and consumers.  For additional information regarding AMCONYC, visit their website at www.amconyc.com.

Now back to the big reveal!
Before the show started, Phumelele announced to the audience that her line encompasses (paraphrasing) styles for all women and that it truly did.  Come join me while we watch through the eyes of this Up and Coming designer her beautiful collection come to life on
the Runway.

As the music blared through the speakers, we were mesmerized by the drum beats, the cymbals and the shaking of the shell anklet bracelets, worn by each Model as they strutted down the runway.  All Jewelry by @heatherljoenes.

On the Runway, her designs didn't disappoint as she gave us a little chic wear, day wear, eveningwear, jumpsuits, and short sets which came in various hues of gold's, white's and black's.

What a great show and a job well done Phumelele!! #BlackPhumelele

As I ran from Phumelele's show to the Latinista Spring/Summer 2016 Fashion Show, my concern was that I may miss the entire show.  For those of you that don't know, Latinista  Fashion Week was started over 5 years ago and has become an intrical part of the Latino community as well as New York Fashion Week.  Well, I caught the tail end of the show as the models strutted on the runway one last time in their extraordinary pieces designed by celebrity designer CZAR by Cesar Galindo.  There was lots of glitter, sparkles and bright colors gliding down the runway.

Whew, as my evening was coming to a close, I strolled by the Skylight at the Moynihan Station across from Penn Station which was one of the new locations for New York Fashion Week.  While walking by, I got a chance to get a sneak peak of Countess LuAnn from the Real Housewives of New York.  I thought to myself, what a nice way to end an evening.

As many of you know, I try to end my blog with a quote whether it's an original quote by me or a quote by a Fashion Designer.  I'm not sure who the below quote originated from, but it's truly one to remember in the grand scheme of things as you work to develop a Fashion sense that best fits you.

"Don't change to fit the Fashion, change the Fashion to fit you"

Simply,

Flo

  1. I like your presentation and agree with much of this information. You kept my attention throughout the whole article, and that's a task. Thank you. A word that doesnt exist. Usually used by dumbasses who really mean to use the word intrical. Define Dictionary Meaning is an easy to use platform where anyone can create and share short informal definition of any word. Best thing is, its free and you can even contribute without creating an account.
